Create a Chatbot Users Audience in Google Analytics (GA4)

Supercharge your chatbot reporting: How many customers that chatted with the chatbot also made a purchase?

How it Works

When a customer chats with the TOMIS Chatbot, the chatbot will automatically send an event called chatbot_message_sent_customer to all Google Analytics tags found on your website.  

Therefore, we can build an audience in Google Analytics that captures all website users that chatted with the TOMIS Chatbot. 

In order to get chatbot revenue reporting in the TOMIS App, you must have accurate GA4 revenue reporting via your booking platform.

Connect Google Analytics to the TOMIS App

  1. In TOMIS, navigate to Settings > Data Sources
  2. Select Google Analytics 4
  3. Login with your Google credentials. Authorize TOMIS to access your Google Analytics data. 
  4. Select the correct Account and Property, then click Continue.
  5. Select the All Users audience then click Save Google Analytics 4 Connection.
  6. Hooray! You've created a Google Analytics connection to the TOMIS App.

 

Create a "Chatbot Users" Audience in Google Analytics

  1. In Google Analytics, navigate to Settings > Admin > Audiences. 
  2. Click the blue New Audience button.
  3. Click Create a custom audience.
  4. Configure the custom audience: 
    1. Name: Chatbot Users exactly. This is case-sensitive and cannot have any additional spaces. 
    2. Include Users When:  Event name exactly matches chatbot_message_sent_customer at any point in time. 
    3. Membership duration: Maximum limit
    4. Click Save

Congratulations!

You've configured a Chatbot Users audience in Google Analytics! It will take Google Analytics a few days to gather data before the TOMIS App will show any reporting. 

Please note that reporting will only be available from the day you made the audience going forward. This means the TOMIS App won't have Google Analytics chatbot reporting before the audience was created.
