Make a great first impression and increase customer engagement by customising your ChatBot Widget and Welcome Message.
As the first line of defence for customer support, your ChatBot should reflect your brand’s personality. To achieve this, you can customise your ChatBot’s:
- Welcome Message – Include a friendly greeting and set customer expectations for what the ChatBot can assist with.
- Widget Colour – Choose a colour from your existing brand kit, ensuring it stands out on your website.
- Widget Icon – Stick with Yonder’s standard chat bubble, use your company logo, or create an avatar to give your ChatBot a personality.
- Widget Flag – Entice customers to click on the ChatBot with an engaging Widget Flag, such as the standard “Ask me” or a customised message that aligns with your style preferences.
How to Edit Your Welcome Message
- Navigate to the Website Widget tab.
- Select the Welcome Page section.
- Edit the Welcome Message copy. You can preview your changes in the onscreen example widget.
- Click Save before leaving.

How to Edit Your ChatBot’s Design
- Navigate to the Website Widget tab.
- Select the Design section.
- Add hex codes to customise:
- Widget Header
- Default Icon Colour
- Widget Flag fill colour
- To use a custom icon:
- Click Upload a Custom Icon and select Replace file to add your image.
- Edit your Widget Flag text.
- You can preview your changes in the onscreen example widget.
- Click Save before leaving.
